Rescue Operations in Israel

Ashkelon

Rescuing people trapped inside an electrical chimney as a result of the collapse of the scaffolding on which they were working.

An additional rescue operation took place after a roof collapse in Ashkelon in May 1998.

 


Beer Sheva

Helping in the rescue operation after the roof of a school sports hall collapsed in 1998. The roof caved in during the basketball practice of the Beitar Beer Sheva youth team. Two teenagers were killed, and a third was injured.


Ramallah

Helping in the rescue operation of people trapped under the rubble of a building that collapsed in 1999.


Jerusalem

Rescuing 4 people alive, and retrieving 23 bodies, at the mass disaster caused by the collapse of the roof of the Versaille wedding hall.

During the event, which took place on the night between the 24th and 25th of May, 2001, all companies of the unit participated in the operation, along with other emergency response organizations.

Tel Aviv

An explosion that took place in the Hatikva neighborhood on July 1, 2003, apparently caused by a leak in a gas tank, caused a two-story building to collapse. As soon as it happened, emergency and rescue personnel were called to the scene, and they began to free the people trapped under the rubble. At the same time, the injured were treated by Magen David Adom and the police.


Train Accident at Revidim

The accident occurred on July 21, 2005, when the train was making its way to Beer Sheva. Search and rescue personnel of the unit participated in rescuing the victims.


Train Accident at Beit Yehoshua

The accident occurred on June 12, 2006, when the train was en route to Haifa. Search and rescue personnel, both reserve soldiers and

soldiers doing their compulsory service, participated in the operation to rescue the victims.


Second Lebanon War

During the war, July 12-August 14, 2006, the personnel of the unit, as soldiers doing their reserve duty, helped the ongoing operation of the Home Front Command.
