There are a number of identification systems designed to warn of incoming rocket fire. Because of security concerns, it is not possible to discuss these systems in depth.

In some cases, the defense systems identify rocket fire and issue an alert, and in other cases – they don’t.

We cannot discuss this question because of security concerns.

Sometimes, rockets are launched serially. As a safety precaution, the public is advised to wait 15 minutes before exiting the secure spaces.

  • In ongoing emergency conditions (when the state of emergency continues) and based on status assessments by the Home Front Command, the radio station called “The Quiet Wave” may go on the air.
  • This station maintains radio silence with the exception of messages intended to save human life (regarding warning sirens and directions for the public). This allows the public to leave a radio on overnight without being unnecessarily disturbed, and also to leave a radio on over the Sabbath without transgressing its religious laws.
The frequencies at which “The Quiet Wave” will be broadcast throughout Israel will be announced in real time based on the decision of the Ministry of Communications.
  •  Directions will be broadcast over “The Quiet Wave” (radio, satellite and cable) in addition to being publicized by other information sources of the Home Front Command (channel 33, the Home Front Command website, and the Information Center at tel. 1207).
