Sources of Information

  • Complex situations require constant updating to stay abreast of a reality that is in flux.
  • Home Front Command directions and its policy on secure spaces are meant to save lives and to allow for a balance between maintaining the daily routine to the extent possible on the one hand, and reducing the risk level on the other.
  • In order to reach the right balance, it is necessary to differentiate between various risk areas. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the directions that are listed by region, and thereby prevent confusion.
  • The Home Front Command uses a wide range of means and methods to transmit directions to the public in order to clarify the directions optimally.

Depending on the complexity of the situation, telephone numbers of the various information hotlines will be publicized in the newspaper, on TV, and by various websites. Usually, a number of different hotlines are opened – at government ministries, local authorities, rescue organizations, etc. – each with its own area of responsibility.

The Home Front Command also maintains an Information Center; its number is 1207 (from any telephone). Dozens of hotline staffers answers questions in different languages on the following topics:

  • types of secure spaces
  • policy on secure spaces
  • correct behavior during an alert
  • directions for staying in shelters

For directions about maintaining a normal routine (work, school, etc.), please contact your local authority or the information center of the relevant government ministry (Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, the situation room of the New Histadrut, Ministry of Education, etc.).
