The Daily Routine during a State of Emergency

The significance of declaring a “special state on the home front” is the granting of legal authority to the Home Front Command.

The Home Front Command strives to strike a balance between the risk and maintaining the routine. In situations in which maintaining the routine entails a high risk to human life, the Home Front Command will issue directions up to and including a suspension of the routine. For example, population centers close to the areas of conflict have more stringent policies on secure spaces that the Haifa area.
In an emergency, it is recommended to avoid gatherings of more than 20 people. Specific directions for any particular emergency will be issued in real time.
These are considered “essential services,” and based on Home Front Command directions, they are required to provide services in order to meet the needs of the public. However, the Home Front Command is not in charge of enforcement; the local authority is. Please contact the municipal hotline fore more information
Staying in the north requires following Home Front Command directions for protecting oneself (staying in secure structures or spaces, based on the directive specific to that area). Additionally, mass gatherings are forbidden in those areas. Therefore, it is recommended that you not go to the north unless it is absolutely essential.
