The medical review board considers the residents’ requests for special protective kits issued for medical reasons. Persons with special medical needs and restrictions, must apply to the medical review board with a request for the issue of a special protective kit.
Medical Board
The Home Front Command Medical Board considers residents' requests for the special types of individual protective kits made on health grounds. Residents with special needs and health restrictions must apply to the Board with a request for a special IPK.
Persons who have received the Medical Board's permit for special IPK's, are registered in the Home Front Command’s databank, and will received a kit appropriate to their needs during the distribution process, and will not need to apply to the Board again. For information about your special IPK, contact the Doar Israel information center at 171 or *2237, or the Home Front Command Information Center at 1207.
The Medical Board's mandate covers the following:
- Authorize issue of an IPK with air pump; - Authorize issue of Keisar kits to persons suffering from severe health problems, such as tracheostomy patients; - Deny issue of special IPK's; - Request additional information.
How to apply to the Medical Board:
• Requests are made using a special application form filled out by the applicant's treating physician; • The application can be filled out online or downloaded from this site (see left of this page); • The application can be downloaded from this site or the Israel Post site, or received at the Israel Post or the Home Front Command information centers. Please attach to the application any relevant medical documents and records, if such documents exist; • The request should be mailed to the following address: "ועדה רפואית – ערכות מגן", צה"ל – פיקוד העורף, ד.צ 02763 («Medical Board – protective kits», IDF, Home Front Command, military mail 02763) • The Medical Board will review the application and reply by mail within 21 working days from the date of its receipt.
For your attention:
• Should the Medical Board accept the request and authorize the issue of the special kit, the applicant must save the authorization and present it at the distribution center in order to receive the appropriate kit. The presentation of said authorization is a necessary condition for the issue and it must therefore be saved; • Should the Medical Board deny the application for a special kit, its decision may be appealed with the Higher Medical Board. It is important to emphasize that the Higher Medical Board's decision will be final and may not be appealed. However, should there be any changes in the applicant's health status, he/she may apply to the Medical Board again.
