Quarantine in a Hotel for Returnees from Abroad

Who is referred to a quarantine hotel, what are the conditions in the hotel, what tests are carried out during the stay and how are you released home? Here are the details that are important to know

All conditions of entry into Israel can be found at this link.

Quarantine in a hotel is not easy, but in light of the increasing Coronavirus morbidity situation in Israel and data indicating the existence of a new mutation of the virus in several centers around the world, the government decided that all returnees to Israel are required to stay in a state-run quarantine hotel, excluding exceptional cases that will receive an exemption at the airport in accordance with the criteria set out in this link .

Exceptional requests for home quarantine will be examined individually by the Exceptions Committee after moving to the state-run quarantine hotel, as detailed below.

Information for returnees from abroad

Arriving to the state-run quarantine hotel

The decision as to which hotel the returnees will be staying at, is made by the Home Front Command and the Ministry of Health at the airport. Arriving at the state-run quarantine hotel will be done by shuttle. The Home Front Command is accompanying those returning from abroad for the entire period of their stay in the hotel until it ends and they return home.

Exceptions Committee for granting exemptions from staying in a state-run quarantine hotel

Please note: there is no exceptions committee at the state-run quarantine hotels for granting an exemption from staying in a hotel. You can apply to the Exceptions Committee for an authorization for home quarantine only after transferring to the state-run quarantine hotel in this link . Documents supporting the application must be attached. The answer is usually received within 24 to 36 hours, via the hotel operations desk. If a negative answer is received or if further processing of the application is required, this should be done by contacting the HMO or the "Health Voice" center of the Ministry of Health, at *5400.
